| ZTA Pink Ribbon Quilt - Rush - August
2000. Every girl that went through the Zeta Tau Alpha house
in Stillwater, OK (OSU), signed a pink triangle in permanent ink.
Betty [with help from her stitch group] appliquéd all of the pink
ribbons in alternate blocks. This quilt to be auctioned off with
proceeds going to the Tulsa Project Woman, Inc.
Tulsa Project Woman, Inc. is a program designed to provide access to breast health care for women with limited income. The program provides breast health education and no cost mammography and other diagnostic procedures for woman meeting screening guidelines. Women diagnosed with breast cancer will receive access to follow-up care. The goal of Tulsa Project Woman, Inc. is to decrease the death rate from breast cancer. This project targets special populations at risk, women with limited financial resources and access to health care. By combining breast health education and financial support, we will be able to decrease the mortality rate of these women. Tulsa Project Woman, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with multiple coalition partners. Organizations and their affiliated physicians working with our program are: American Cancer Society, Cancer Treatment Center of Tulsa, Hillcrest Healthcare, Morton Comprehensive Health Care Center, Oklahoma State University Clinics, Saint Francis Health System, St. John Medical Center, Surgery, Inc., Surgical Associates, Inc., Surgical Services, Inc., Tulsa City-County Public Health Department, Tulsa Regional Medical Center, and University of Oklahoma. Funding for Tulsa Project Woman, Inc. is supported by a grant from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (Tulsa Race for the Cure Affiliate) and numerous fundraisers of the American Cancer Society (primarily the annual Pink Ribbon Luncheon and Dinner). Pieced entirely by Betty Baker, machine quilting donated by C&C quilting, Jenks OK. [Thanks Shirley].
